Welcome to the Lewis Carroll Society of North America on-line auction. We have received a donation of about 200 items in memory of our dear friend Carolyn Buck.
Our purpose here is to sell these items to raise money to help fund the 2015 celebration of the 150th anniversary of the publication of Alice's Advenures in
Wonderland. Six years is barely enough time to plan for such a momentous event. So this is not like your average auction, where you try to buy things as
cheaply as possible; this is a looking-glass auction where you want to pay as much as you can, in order to support our cause. You can't blame a guy for trying.
This auction makes no cents. That is to say we only take bids in dollar increments (no bids of $22.03 please). All bids are understood to be made in US dollars.
There will be minimum initial bids on all items, although some of these will be one dollar. There will be no sniping. There is a close date for each auction, but
no closing time. I will end each auction at a random time on the stated date. There will be auctions every week until everything has been listed. Shipping charges
will be extra at cost. If you do not wish to pay for insurance, thaen there will be none and we will not be responsible for the items after they ship. We will
combine shipping charges for multiple lots, and we encourage the purchase of many lots. That would help keep the work involved in shipping to a more reasonable level.
For this, I personally thank you in advance. Tell all of your friends, because the idea is to raise money.
I have just received another donation of items for auction. They will be include in auction #4 and onward. More boxes are on the way! |
| All items are sold as pictured. If you are unsure about something, ask. Bidding will be via email. Send me a list of lot numbers and your maximum bids. Your bids will be placed via proxy. Payment will be accepted in the form of a checks made out to the LCSNA or via Paypal. |
Here's a hint: If you're watching the auction regularly, you should refresh your screen. otherwise your computer will take the version it has stored in cache, and you may not see the latest bids.
